Buddies

Who are Buddies?

Buddies are a group of children who offer support to other children. They are caring and good listeners who try to solve any worries and problems people may have.

Where and when will I see Buddies?

Buddies are on duty on the infant and junior playgrounds every morning play time and lunch time.

What do Buddies look like?

They wear a bright yellow jacket with ‘Peer Advocate’ printed on the back.

Why do we have Buddies?

  • Buddies support teachers and dinner staff when on the playground.
  • Buddies reassure others that there is always somebody to turn to when guidance or support is needed.
  • Buddies give children the chance to discuss their feelings which helps to develop communication and listening skills.
  • Buddies raise awareness of issues or problems that may arise at playtimes.
